Synthesis Design and Architects is an architecture firm based in Pune. It is known for its meticulous planning and passion for new and innovative materials in architecture. When the firm approached me for branding solutions, they were not only looking for an identity that would communicate their business well, but also stand true to their vision of creating modern and well-planned spaces.
While conceptualizing their identity, I combined the basics of architecture design like floor-plan, space division, and the golden ratio, with the company’s initials – SDA. Since the clients were keen on being identified through their initials, getting the initials fused with graphics was the primary challenge.
Few approaches explored:
After going through a series of iterations for graphical expressions, the final designs revealed themselves when I synthesised a San-Serif block style font for SDA while combining the floor plan graphic using the golden ratio. The top view of a plan formed an “i” at the golden point, while it’s boundary signified a complete environmental solution which SDA is all about.

A Fibonacci-derived algorithm pattern that is present in many natural aspects of the world. Any image is enormously simplified, made more grpahic by the extreme reduction of visual information. So the effect is both literal and highly abstract.
